I don't recall hearing much good or bad about this movie, but, due to the strike and my ever decreasing new episodes of favorite shows, I am widdling away at my Tivo's Picks and the movie Just Friends was one of them. Just Friends is about a guy, played by one of my personal faves: Ryan Reynolds, who pines after his best female friend from school. He was overweight in school and, once out of school became a hottie and a career success. So, fate puts him back in his hometown, hilarity ensues and, this movie was awesome! I laughed the entire way through it!
So, here is how good this movie was. I was looking for something to watch while the hubby read a book. Something that he likely wouldn't care too much about and that wouldn't distract him from his reading. It turns out, Just Friends was the wrong choice because, only a minute into it, the hubby kept looking up from his reading to watch and laugh along with me. About 15 or 20 minutes into it, the hubby totally gave up the reading in favor of the movie! Oops! But, an impromptu unplanned movie night can sometimes be the best thing!
So, I highly recommend Just Friends! It stars, as mentioned before: Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris, Amy Smart and Chris Klein and had some of the best one liners and a lot of physical comedy between Ryan's character and his on-screen brother! Who knew brothers could be so brutal? I loved it!
