'I've Been Re-Hymentated'

Ok...not me! LOL! Dean on Supernatural has been re-hymenated. At least, he thinks so. Allow me to explain. In last week's episode of Supernatural titled "Monster Movie" he came to the conclusion that, after he was raised from Hell he was basically reborn. He doesn't have any of his old scars, aches or pains so, he figured that he is probably a virgin again. "My virginity is in tact. I've been rehymenated." I know! He cracks me up too! But, not to be out-shined...Sam retorts with, "Please. Dean maybe Angels can pull you out of Hell. But no one can do that." LOL!

And, as usual, the one-liners just kept on coming.

I'm going to back track a little bit here. "Monster Movie" was done in black and white. But modern black and white where everything has more detail without actually having any color. I wasn't sure what I would think about it. I was skeptical at first thinking that Kripke took things a little too far but, it didn't take long for me to get into it and to stop being distracted by the black and white and start enjoying the pure entertainment value of it. As usual, Kripke and crew did us right.

So, back to another favorite one-liner from this episode. Dean was being held captive by Dracula who was obsessed with old movies. So, of course Dracula dressed Dean up as Hansell from Hansell and Gretal. Sam finds Dean just in the nick of time, frees him, gives Dean "Elevator Eyes"...you know, up and down. And says, "Hey there Hansell." Ok..I don't do it justice. So, watch it and see for yourself!

I love this show! Everything and everyone is always so on cue! And, even the quirkier, potential Jump-the-Shark things seem to work somehow! That is true talent!

It Pains Me To Say This...

But, I don't hate the new Britney Spears song "Womanizer". And, I don't even hate her new video for it either. What is the world coming to? Granted, I still think she sings through her nose more then through her lungs and vocal chords and, true to the typical Britney we all know and love to hate, it is trashy, slutty, trampy and, God help me...SEXY!

So, giving credit where credit is due...Well done Britney! You may just make a comeback after all. Furthermore, giving more credit where it is due...Good job Papa (Jamie) Spears for getting her head screwed back on straight and getting her back on track and on a better path. Keep her away from that wreck of a mother of hers and be the good Dad that she needs. Keep up the good work Daddy Spears!

Exercise Those Acting Chops...

Wow! So, last night's episode of CSI on CBS was number 1 in William Peterson's final 10 episodes as CSI Gil Grissom and he knocked it out of the park. The first few minutes had him devastated over the death of Warrick Brown and Peterson's acting tore my heart out last night. I am not the biggest fan of Gary Dourdan who played Warrick Brown, but, the grief that Peterson displayed towards Brown's death was nothing short of breath taking and heart wrenching and I felt that grief as well.

I have always adored Peterson as Gil Grissom. I love his quirkiness and wittiness. I love the way he is both soft at heart but gets the job done and leads his team with both fatherly and detached authority. I am not sure what the future of CSI will be once the heart of the show is gone. I can't promise to be loyal to the show once Gil Grissom is gone. I have read that he will be back on the show again in the future but, not in a permanent role...at least for now. But, that isn't enough. If the way he said good-bye to Brown (Dourdan) is a glimpse into what his exit will look like, I think I need to buy stock in Kleenex because I barely held it together during last night's episode.

I am not looking forward to 9 more episodes from now when I have to watch one of my favorite characters on TV ride off into the sunset. I feel almost like it is a slap in the face to be losing him.

Will I survive it? Will CSI survive it? Who knows? Certainly not me.

Going Too Far...

When we are kids, we plaster our walls with pictures of whatever celebrity we have devoted our young hearts to but, as we get older, our tastes change and we start to tear down those posters and go a little more minimal with our wall coverings. But, some adults are still prone to excess and fanaticism. As I was headed out of my subdivision this morning, I passed the adult version of fanaticism. In front of one of the houses was no less than 10 Presidential/Vice Presidential candidate signs. I am all for you supporting whomever you believe will make the best leader of our great country but, really? 10 signs? Is that necessary? Just one tells us who you will be voting for and what side of the fence you sit on. 10 tells us you are ridiculous. 10 signs in such a small surface area tells us you are tacky and probably a bit unreasonable. 10 signs tells us that we need to stay far away from you in any political conversation because you will likely be the person who starts yelling and who can't hold a civil conversation. 10 signs is very much like standing in your front yard and screaming your candidates' names at each car that drives by.

You are a big girl and boy now. Moderation is key.

All that being said, I have asked myself if I would be as offended and annoyed if the signs had my candidates' names on them. And, I have come to the conclusion that, yes, I would be as offended. In fact, I would be embarrassed because that many signs makes me think they and their party are pushy. I like to think of my side of the fence as a reasonable group of people. There is passionate support and then there is overbearing, in-your-face obnoxious support. Stop embarrassing yourself and your party by throwing it in everyones' faces.

I'll Do It But I'm Naked...

Sometimes a sentence is said that, when taken or heard out of context, can be quite amusing. And, sometimes, even taken in context, it can still be quite amusing.

So, here is one such sentence: "I'll do it but I'm naked."

Allow me to unravel this story.

The hubby and I were in our room. I was getting ready to take a shower and he was getting some stuff ready for tomorrow for work. The hubby had the TV on tuned to CBS and he noticed that their programming was running late...as usual. He said that we would have to reset our TiVo to record our programs for a little longer to make sure the end of the shows weren't cut off. I asked him if he had done that yet and he said he hadn't. I then said "I'll do it but I'm naked". To which he responded, "That's a good name for a show." Then I said, "Or a band".

So, after a good giggle about that conversation, Hubby said, "Why do I have a feeling I'll see this on your blog?" How could I resist that challenge?

Glad I Gave it a Shot...

I might have missed out on one of my new favorite shows of this fall season if I had gone along with my initial wavering of interest in this show. I am so glad I decided to just give it a shot. The Ex List on CBS (Fridays at 9) is outstanding. From hair-down-there jokes to trying to turn someone off in an effort to avoid a nasty breakup, The Ex List is witty, charming and hilarious. I can't believe I almost didn't tune in.

What is The Ex List about? I will gladly tell you. Bella takes her soon to be married sister to a psychic during her bachelorette party and ends up getting a reading herself. The Psychic tells her that she will be married inside of a year but, it won't be to a new relationship. Bella has already met and dated her future hubby. And, according to Bella, she has dated a lot of guys so, that list isn't at all a small task to get through. The Psychic also tells her that if she doesn't figure it out, she will never get married so, she must find that guy soon if she is to be married inside a year, or ever.

So far, her first potential future hubby was a disaster. He was a cry baby musician when they dated 7 years ago and she dumped him on his Birthday leaving him bitter. When she seeks him out, she is instantly attracted to his hot new look and attitude but, it isn't long after they consummate their new found re-love that he is back to his old cry baby, smothering ways. But, just as she is looking for a way to turn him off from her and get him to break up with her, she realizes how very much she likes him and how sweet he is. Until he turns the tables on her, embarrassing her publicly at his next singing gig, by singing a song about how he has had his revenge on her by getting her to adore him and now he is ditching her and she will always be alone.

I can't wait to see what's next. How much worse can her re-dating get?

SciFi Feels Like Home To Me

This season is the final season of Stargate Atlantis. I will miss it but, I am comforted by a new show that may just take its place in my heart. Sanctuary is fun, mysterious, supernatural and everything I love about the SciFi Channel. Amanda Tapping, from Stargate SG-1, plays Dr. Helen Magnus and she fits in the role like your tired feet in cozy slippers. And, let's not forget the rest of this magnificently hot cast. Robin Dunne plays the nerdy but sexy Dr. Will Zimmerman and Emilie Ullerup plays Ashley Magnus, Helen's freeze dried miracle daughter.

Dr. Helen Magnus is over 150 years old and has made herself a champion of the monsters in the world. She captures them, gives them a home in Sanctuary and both protects them from the rest of the world and the rest of the world from them. She has enlisted her daughter, Ashley, and Will as a part of her team. As Ashley says, she bags them, Helen tags them and now, Will helps study them.

So, as I prepare to say good-bye to Stargate Atlantis, I happily welcome, with open arms, Sanctuary into my home inside my home...the SciFi Channel.

Dr. Seriously Inappropriate

Gross! That and a few other terms that I would call "of endearment" are ones that I would chose to apply to one of the doctors on Dr. 90210. First of all, he really has a very high opinion of himself. Then, there is the creepy way he talks to and touches his patients. Although, they don't seem to mind, that is just not my idea of a good Doctor/Patient relationship.

Then, just when I think he can't be anymore inappropriate, he goes ahead and refers to the unfortunate problem of being less than well endowed as far as breasts go, as a "Handicap". Are you freaking kidding me? Really? Allow me to clarify. One of his patients was very, very small. She even said she had a negative A cup. She was a nude model and wanted a breast enlargement so that she could finally feel comfortable in her chosen career. So, the doctor's response was amazement about how "flat" she really is and then, he said some unthinkable things. Especially to the ears of someone who is also not well-endowed. He said that she has been lucky to do as well as she has in her career despite her "Handicap" of small breasts. Handicap? So, does that mean that I can get a Handicap license plate, a handicap tag for my rear view mirror in my car, and park in handicap spaces from now on since I am not that well-endowed either? Wow! I never really thought of my lack of massive chesticles as a "Handicap". I'll have to work this angle and see how far it can take me!

What a freaking Tool! No wait...a tool implies he is useful!

The Butt Bite...

I love this commercial. Especially near the end where the girl on the bus bites his butt. This is possibly one of the best commercials ever!

Making Decorations

This is my crafty side. I made this a few years ago. Just take an empty jar...Mason jars are great...get some primer and cover the outside in it. Let the primer dry and then paint the jar with whatever color and kind of paint you chose. I use a spray paint because it is easier. Let that dry and then paint your face on. I free-hand drew the face with a pencil and then painted it in. Finally, I bought a miniature straw hat from a craft store in my area (Michael's) and I cut a hole in the top of it, then I slipped it over the lid of the jar and, what you can't see is that there is also a tea light candle on top of the lid. It makes a cute little decoration and, for those Green people out there, it is a good way to recycle some of those jars.

Happy Halloween!

Heroes is Winning Me Back...

I have been somewhat on the fence about Heroes but, this season is proving that a slump can be temporary. I like the new directions that they have taken with the characters. Claire is confusing me a little. Is she bitterly becoming a Villain? And Sylar? I am loving him this season. Could he sort of fit himself into the hole left in the Heroes side if Claire goes Villain? It hurts to see the second most innocent of all the Heroes be stuck in Level 5. Seeing Hiro and Ando stuck in Level 5 was like seeing innocence lost. And, seeing the future where Ando turns on Hiro and kills him was like a knife in the heart.

I am a little surprised to see that Mohinder is the one who pretty much screws the world up. I guess that makes him a bit of a Villain himself as I am sure he will fight Heck or high water for his creation of the serum that makes Heroes or Villains out of regular people.

So, I am enjoying Heroes this season. Lucky for them because if I kept feeling any less interested in it, they may have lost another viewer.

About To Be Screwed...

Hype caused it. Panic made it worse. More hype is breeding more panic and, 2 weeks later I am about to become yet another person in Georgia who might be panicking. What am I talking about? Well, just before Hurricane Ike hit Texas people started panicking in Georgia about being able to get gas. So, they all went out and hit the pumps whether they really needed it or not and, bing bang boom...now we are in a gas shortage crisis. Stations are running out on a nearly daily basis. I say on a "nearly daily basis" because a gas station may get gas at 7 AM and be out of gas by 11 AM that same day, leaving them to close the entire station until they can get refilled maybe 2 or more days later. Lines at the stations span out to the streets. My hubby and I tried to get gas today at a Kroger station and the line for the gas wrapped around the entire Kroger (a grocery store chain) parking lot. I am not exaggerating here. Imagine the size of your average grocery store parking lot. Now, imagine the perimeter of that parking lot being entirely wrapped by vehicles just waiting in line to get gas. Yes! That is really bad. People are literally running out of gas waiting in line to get...GAS! I have roughly a quarter of a tank of gas left and my hubby has less than that. I, unlike the general panicking public, tried to keep from adding to the headaches and the crisis by keeping my butt at home and staying away from the pump for as long as possible. I was hopeful that by the time I did need to start thinking about going to the pump, this crisis would be over. So much for hope. Now I need it and because of the hoarders and the initial panickers, I can't get it. And, yes...there are people out there who are going to the pump to put 1/8 of a tank of gas in their tank to top it off. IF YOU DON'T NEED IT, STAY AWAY SO THAT THE PEOPLE WHO DO NEED IT CAN GET IT! There is a basic principle being overlooked here. If you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem and those who are just "topping off" their tanks are a HUGE part of the problem. Our governor mentioned that if this problem persists for another 5 days, which was maybe 4 days ago, he was considering closing school for a few days. There are some stations that are limiting how much you are allowed to pump to 5 or 10 gallons. The government needs to step in here and mandate that allowance until this is straightened out. But, when all is said and done, I am a little fish in a big pond and I have no say in the matter. All I can do is bitch about it and worry.

At this point, I am ready to get a horse and buggie.

Thank God for Boxer Briefs...

I have never been the biggest fan of the show Survivor on CBS but, this season, I was talked into watching it by some friends I talk to online on another forum. So, I sat down to watch the 2 hour premiere of Survivor: Gabon and, I think I am glad I did.

Given that I haven't been a steady fan, I can't recall how poorly dressed some of the castaways have been in the past. I can vaguely remember high heel shoes and maybe some dresses here and there but, it seems like this season's cast thought they were going out to dinner at a nice restaurant instead of to the jungle in Africa. Girls in skirts, men in suits. What? Shouldn't you think a little more along the lines of layering. Perhaps a pair of shorts under a pair of pants. A short sleeved shirt under a hoodie. And, all on top of bathing suits? Also, appropriate footwear. Tennis shoes, maybe some socks. Things you can wear when it is hot during the day and cool at night. But, perhaps that is just me.

That being said, I would like to say Thank you to Marcus for wearing a suit so that all he has to wear during the day is his boxer briefs that he was wearing under that very gorgeous suit. And, wow did he ever look good in that suit. But, better still...him in only his skivvies! Good God does that man make me drool. I mean seriously. He is so hot that he is distracting me from whatever conversation he happens to be having with whomever he is on my TV with, each time he is on my TV.

Perhaps he should consider putting his shirt back on, and maybe tearing the pants from his suit to fashion some shorts so that he doesn't continue to distract me from what he is saying. Good Lord man...put some more clothes on. On second thought...leave them off!

Getting Older...

I know that age is just a number but, sometimes, we are smacked in the face with just how old we are getting. You know, like when a beloved movie from when you were a pre-teen turns 25 or when your nieces or nephews are driving and dating or getting ready to go off to college. Well, I was hit once more with a startling reality check. Most of us have heard of the term Cougar. For those of you who haven't, allow me to enlighten you. A Cougar is not just a big beautiful feline anymore. No...a Cougar is the very charming (read that in a snarky, sarcastic voice) term that has been given to single women who are 35 years old or older who are currently on the hunt for younger men. Whatever. No biggie right? Except that I would fall into that category were I a single woman on the hunt for a younger guy. So, I guess that I am officially considered old at the ripe old age of 35. I would be a baby Cougar. Perhaps a Cougar cub. But, a Cougar nonetheless. And, that stings a little. I have lucked out. My genetic makeup has me looking more than a decade younger than my actual age. At least, that is what I have been told by everyone. In fact, I have actually had people argue with me and make me pull out my driver's license to prove that I am the age I say I am. No...I don't lie about my age. So, as I sit here realizing that the general public considers me "old", it is comforting to know that, those who know me, and those who have only met me, all think I am much younger than I really am. So, here is the question. If a single woman, 35 years or older and on the hunt for a younger man, is called a Cougar, what is a man, 35 years or older on the hunt for a younger woman, called? A Heffner? Or, would we dub them a more animalistic name like women get? Perhaps a Bear? No...that doesn't sound right to me. A Snake? No...that applies to men who are your basic jerk. Perhaps we could keep it in the same general family. A Panther. Or, a Lion? I welcome all suggestions because, women aren't the only gender who look for younger mates.
