ON MY MIND NOW...Ehh...not much to say lately. Feeling anxious, off kilter, restless and stressed.

This Stuff Makes Silk out of Sand Paper...

I Love, Love, Love this stuff! Last winter, I found my skin getting worse and worse. It felt like a disgusting combination of Alligator and Sand Paper. Yuck! I basically wanted to remove my skin and see if there was someone else that could lend me theirs. But, since that is really not a valid option, I tried to fix it through products. I suddenly remembered how my skin would feel after using Dove bar soap, when I was younger. I sort of didn't like it back then because it felt kind of greasy, like soap was still on my skin. However, I know that that is really the moisturizer that Dove leaves behind, so, I decided to get a bottle of Dove body wash and, the one I chose was Dove Cream Oil Body Wash in the Jasmine and Vanilla sent. The Dove Cream Oil Body Washes come in 3 different blends. The one I use is "Delicate". They also have "Creamy" and "Ultra Rich" and each one of them has a different scent and a noticeably different formula as they get thicker and creamier. Mine isn't as thick as the other two, but, it works perfectly fine for me.

The first day I tried it, I could already tell a difference in the way my skin looked and felt. By the end of the first week, I was probably about 70 - 80% repaired. By the end of week 2, my skin was like a baby's.

So, whenever any of my friends or family tell me about how dry their skin is, I recommend Dove Cream Oil and, it paid off recently. I was visiting with my Mom a couple weeks ago and told her about it after she told me how dry her skin has been. She remembered that I mentioned it to her and bought the "Creamy" blend. She called me yesterday to thank me for my suggestion because her skin is so much better now.

So, give it a shot for yourself, if you are constantly having to use lotions or, if you just want to improve on already good skin.

I love Dove Cream Oil! My skin has never been healthier!

I Guess She Doesn't

I posed the question, yesterday, whether the Brit Twit even wants her children and, I guess the answer is "No!" She was supposed to go to court yesterday to fight to get her 50/50 physical custody of her children back from the 100% physical custody that Kevin has until further notice. Her lawyer told her that it would behoove her to be there but, she didn't want to. So, she didn't show up yesterday. And, despite her lawyers argument that the new custody ruling was unfair, the judge declined to reinstate the original 50/50.

Where was the Brit Twit while her lawyer was in court duking it out on her behalf? At Starbucks and a Shell gas station with her dog working a paparazzi-tastic photo op inside her car!

So glad she has such a strong relationship with her dog. That dog is probably the only being she will ever be allowed to care for again if she continues on her merry way of selfishness.

What Makes a Good Read?

Besides the expected...suspense, what makes a good read, to me, is if while reading a book I do one of two things. If I laugh out loud or even just chuckle to myself, or if I actually shed a tear or even just tear up. So, IMO, the only way to do that is for me to actually feel connected or invested somehow in the lives of the characters of the books that I read. And, for me to feel such a strong connection, the writer really has to work some magic. Thereby making his or her book, a great read.

I just finished The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen. It was really good and kept me engaged throughout the entire story. It didn't make me tear up or laugh out loud. But, it was still a suspenseful murder mystery with a nice blend of the supernatural weaved in and, I will be looking for more Tess Gerritsen books to add to my ever expanding collection of books.

Of note is a read I mentioned in an earlier post. It was Dean Koontz's The Good Guy. He managed to give me both of my requirements for a "great read" in the same book. I laughed and giggled out loud somewhere closer to the beginning of the book and teared up somewhere closer to the end. Once again, I must give Dean Koontz props for a job well done!

Now, onto my next read. It is another Dean Koontz book. This one is titled Fear Nothing. I forgot that I made this purchase at the same time that I made the purchase of Tess Gerritsens' book. I am looking forward to losing myself inside of Fear Nothing and I'll let you all know what I think of it once I am finished!

For now, grab one of my suggestions, if you haven't already, and...Happy Reading!

This Brought Tears to My Eyes...

As I was laughing my Ass off! I never liked this song. Couldn't understand why everyone else seemed to love it so much! But, with "Tom's" additions, I love this version! Just cut and paste it into your browser! Enjoy!

My Favorite Victoria's Secret

I have to give props to Victoria's Secret! There are women in the world who will wear a thong just because they need something that won't show under a pair of dress pants or any pant, short or skirt where a BPL or VPL (Bad Pantie Line or Visible Pantie Line) can be noticed. I don't prefer to wear thongs but, I will if I have to. So, Victoria's Secret came up with a wonderful remedy! They now have the Very Sexy Scalloped Hiphugger! I love these. They are absolutely invisible under your clothes. There is only one seam and, it goes where the Good Lord split you. They are comfortable and fantabulous! And, to top it all off, they are also tagless! I don't think there could be a more perfect pantie for those of us that don't really like floss up our splits.

So, to help you out, here is a picture of the pantie to help you find it in the stores:

Does She Even Want Her Kids?

I have to ask that. It sure seems like Britney doesn't want her kids when she blatantly thumbs her nose at the rules.

So, as I mentioned yesterday, Britney had her kids taken away from her for breaking every single one of the rules that the Commissioner gave her last month. But, here is a little more on that.

Brit Twit was supposed to sign a document that would allow for a custody evaluator to perform psych evaluations on her, and she was supposed to have that document in Kevin's lawyer's hands by 10 AM this past Monday. Task: Not Completed.

Next up on the Brit Breaks the Rules Tour: Both Brit Twit and her Ex-Slightly Better Half (Kevin) were supposed to submit proof that they both had valid California driver's licenses and insurance. They were told not to drive with their kids in the car until they were legally allowed to by obtaining said valid license. TMZ took video and pictures of Britney driving her kids around over the weekend and, no, she neither provided proof of a valid Cali driver's license and she didn't have one at all. Task: Not Completed.

Finally, Brit Twit was in a nightclub in Newport Beach last Thursday. Fine, whatever. A girls got to let her hair down "now and then". However, one of the little rules that the Commissioner laid out for both her and Kevin was that they were not allowed to consume alcohol 12 hours prior to taking physical custody of the boys. Other patrons of the club said they saw her sucking down alcohol past midnight and she picked the kids up from Kevin at noon, which for those who don't want to do the math, is less than 12 hours between her last alcoholic beverage was consumed. Task: Not Complete.

So, there you have it! When the Commissioner says jump, Brit...your question should be "how high". And, for that extra credit you so need, consider asking "how many times".

The Happiest Dog...

I saw the happiest dog on the highway the other day. No, the dog wasn't actually on the highway. He was in the passenger side of his Daddy's pick-up truck. It was a Yellow Labrador Retriever. Possibly a mix as most yellows have short hair. This dog had longer hair and, his or her hair had a light tinge of gold as if it was part Yellow Lab and Golden Retriever.

So, I am driving along and the pick-up passes me to my left. This extremely happy dog had not just its head out the window. It had half of its entire body (if not slightly more) out of the window and, to keeps its balance, it had its left paw on the side mirror. It was panting and smiling from ear to ear. It ducked its head back into the cab and stood next to Daddy, wagging its tail like it was its job. Then, it poked its head back out of the window, put its paw on the mirror again and continued on with its "lucky to be alive", happy as can be, day in the breeze!

That dogs sheer delight at the most simple of things put a smile on my face.

Note: While I worried for the dog being in such a potentially dangerous position, I still admired the sheer joy that he or she was experiencing from the simple feeling of wind on his or her face.

Oops...I Still Can Not Drive...

In the never ending drama, saga and just plain entertaining world of Britney Spears, according to a California state DMV spokeswoman...Britney still is not a legal driver of California. I mentioned that she was spotted at the DMV yesterday (Monday) but, apparently, she still did not obtain the important item that would make it legal for her to drive around with the rest of the residents of California. That's right. She went in to inquire about her status. As a what, pray tell? A bad mother? A drug and substance abuser? Her real hair color? How many accidents she's been in? Not sure here but, she reportedly didn't walk away with a license. She would have to bring in her Louisiana license and take a written test before she can get a valid Cali license to drive.

Also, there are reports that she was unpleasant to the staff at the DMV yesterday. One aught to think twice about carrying attitude around and tossing it at people whom you need to provide you with something you need to keep your butt legal.

Pet Peeves (conti.)

11. Fathers who refer to the times when they have to watch their kid(s) as "Babysitting". Are you freaking kidding me with that crap? You don't "Babysit" your own kid(s). The teenager down the street "Babysits" your kid(s). Kid's siblings "Babysit" each other. A man can "Babysit" for a friend, neighbor or relative. But, Fathers don't "Babysit" their own kid(s). They are your kid(s). It is your responsibility to care for them every single day. Regardless of whether the mother is in or out of the house, you share the responsibility for the care of your child or children. And, the fact that you are watching them for however long while their Mother is away, does not make you some kind of hero. Especially if the Mother is a stay at home Mom. She isn't considered "Babysitting" all day long. She is "Caring" for, or "Mothering" your children all day long, every day and, she probably isn't being considered a hero for doing so.

Being a parent means a lifetime of responsibility. You can't just decide to "Babysit" now and then. It is not just your girlfriend's, fiance's or wife's job to "Care" for your kids. You contributed half of what it took to make your child or children. Now, it is your job to provide care for them without calling it "Babysitting".

I'm a Proud Car Singer...

Well, sort of! I will admit to being a car singer. I love to sing and I love music. Whether I am good, tolerable or just plain bad...that is something only those that have heard me can attest to. As far as I am concerned, when a good song comes on the radio while I am driving, I will enthusiastically sing along!

There are times when my confidence is low and I feel vulnerable to what people are thinking about me. On those days, if I am at a red light or sitting in crowded traffic, I will probably not sing along with my radio. But, if it is a really good song that I just can't pretend to be less than pumped about hearing, I might hold my cell up to my ear and pretend that I am talking! I know! How much of a dork am I?

I just can't help myself! Music can make or break my mood. When I am in a bad mood, a good song can, and often does, lift my spirits. When I am in a good mood, watch out world!

I have probably made many people giggle or outright laugh at my "Car Singing". Here is my thought on that: if I can make just one person laugh at me, in traffic, than I have managed to help my fellow man (or woman) have a better day, even if it is only temporarily.

I remember a day, years ago, when I felt miserable. I was upset and near tears the entire day. I was driving home from work and happened to glance at my rear view mirror while stopped at a light. The girl behind me was singing her heart out and dancing her shoulders, arms and hands off, as that is about all we can do while seated in our cars. She made me laugh for the first time that entire day. I remember her vividly, and the funny thing is, I can't remember at all what had me so sad that entire day! I don't know her but, she changed my way of thinking! She made me realize that, the simple act of "Car Singing" can brighten even the crankiest person's day!

So, sing your shoulders, arms and hands off in your car! Who cares if people are laughing at you? Especially when you may have changed their day!

I Cheered Out Loud...

I never thought that I would see the day when I actually gave a little cheer for Kevin Federline. But, upon finding out that Britney Spears had to hand the kids over to her ex-hubby, I actually gave a little cheer! Who would have imagined that Kevin would be the more desirable and trustworthy parent of the two of them?

For those of you who haven't read or heard it somewhere, the reason behind her loss of her children (at least for right now) is because of something I mentioned before. She does not have a California Driver's License even though she has been a California resident for years now. Then, to make matters worse, she was charged recently with a hit and run where was caught on camera by the paparazzi that follow her every move. After that, her lack of a California Driver's License came to light in the media. Instead of paying attention, she remained clueless and continued to drive. But, to put the fire on top of the train wreck that is Britney, she not only continued to drive around, she did it with her kids! Given that much spit in the face of state law, Kevin and his lawyer took action and had the kids legally removed from her. So, now it is rumored that she went to a DMV to get her license upon leaving her kids with her slightly better ex-half.

One can only hope that her next move is to a Real Rehab Facility where she has to stay there, get the help she needs while actually having to live like a responsible person with chores. She needs to go somewhere that won't let her get out and go shopping or have her nails done. Somewhere without a nice relaxing spa. Somewhere that doesn't give nice massages. Make it hard so that she will appreciate how hard her struggle was to kick her bad, life-threatening habits.

Update: I just read some more crap on one of my favorite celebrity blog sites, that Britney ignored everything that she was told to do last month. She was told to get regular drug tests, meet with a drug counselor, enroll in parenting classes, sign the judges order and she and Kevin were both told that they were prohibited from driving with the kids in the car as long as they didn't have a valid California Driver's License. Guess what? She broke every single rule that was given to her. Way to be Brit! If there is anyone out there that feels sorry for her it is probably her!

Britney, you are not a government of your own! You have to obey the same laws as the rest of us! You live on Planet Earth, not Universe Britney! It is simple, break the rules and you get privileges taken away, one by one! Eventually, all of your privileges will be gone. Do you know what that is called? Jail! Good luck with that!

Just a note: When I wrote the part about Britney living on Planet Earth, not Universe Britney, I swear to you that I had not read the post by Perez Hilton about what Brit did to get her kids taken away. All of my info above came from TMZ's site. I love Perez Hilton's site and, having just read him asking what planet she lives on...I feel a bit of a kindred spirit thing towards Perez. We have always tended to see things in a very similar light as far as the stupid things that celebs do and to see him pose a question about which planet she lives on makes me proud to be a fellow blogger and a loyal reader. And, even more proud knowing that I pondered the same question as to what planet Brit lives on that she thinks that she can get away with breaking the laws and rules that the rest of us have to obey.

Pet Peeves

I told all of you that I am a very opinionated person and, so...over the course of my life, I have collected a nice Boeing 747 sized container of pet peeves. So, without further ado, here they are:

1. When people say "a whole nother". There is no such word as "nother". There is "another, an, and other. You could say "a whole other". No "Nother" Exists!

2. The term "Manny". So, I am not a feminist. Not enough so that I would like to label myself as such, anyway. But, the term "Manny" implies that the word nanny has a gender and thus needs to be changed to make way for the new trend of "Male Nannies". Why? Can't we just call him a Nanny? Or, refer to him as "Such and Such's Male Nanny"? It is, IMO, a sexist and antiquated way of thinking to just assume that the word Nanny implies a female and that we must make a new word to refer to a man who takes a position as a Nanny. Please, stop referring to a man nanny as a Manny!

3. Again, not a feminist but, the thought that women are bad drivers while men are just assholes on the road. Wrong. Why is it that when a woman does something stupid on the road, like cut someone off, she is a bad driver? When a man does the exact same thing he is just being an asshole.

4. I don't know if it is because it is written this way, of if it is some annoying form of ad libbing on the part of the actor/actress. When a character does the following example: "Liz, she is upset right now." So, here is why this is stupid. That quote would be something from General Hospital. Not necessarily a direct quote but, something I am making up for the sake of using an example. So, Lucky would be the one saying that sentence, while talking to another character...perhaps Emily. He is saying that Liz is upset right now. Does he really have to add "she" in there? We know Liz is a woman. Emily knows Liz is a woman. So, he should just say the sentence as "Liz is upset right now." And, he doesn't say it like "Liz...(a pause for emphasis), she is upset right now." He says it quickly. And, on one occasion, he was talking about 2 of the characters and after he would say each name, he would refer to them as she. He had several lines in that specific sequence and he did it in each line! SO Annoying!

5. When one asks a person a question and their answer starts with "Honestly"? No, I thought that when I asked you that question, it was implied that I wanted you to lie to me.

6. People who get on their cell phones in restaurants and talk loudly as if we all want to hear one side of their conversation.

7. People who stand too close to the person in front of them in any line. If you are up my rear in line, don't expect me to apologize to you when I back up and step on your toes! Yes! I did it on purpose and, I am gleefully giggling and listening to the crowd roar and cheer for me inside of my own head!

8. Parents who think that, just because they have a stroller, I should forfeit my right to walk with convenience or stand in a line at a register without being hit. I have been hit by parents with their strollers and, they didn't apologize. (Note: I do not hate parents! Most of my friends are parents! The difference is that they don't assume that just because they are parents, they have special privileges. They are courteous in and out of public!)

9. This goes back to something similar to 6 & 8. People in grocery stores on cell phones who aren't paying any attention to what they are doing or where they are walking. I was hit, not once, but twice by the same woman with her cart in a grocery store years ago. She was on her cell and, not only did she not apologize to me for hitting me with her grocery cart, but she gave me a look as though, I did something wrong...to her!

10. People who call you, at your house or your business, who dialed a wrong number and then, instead of apologizing for the mistake (which hardly seems really even necessary since, we have all done it and will probably do it many times in the future and it is just an accident/mistake), proceeds to argue with you that the person that they are looking for is most certainly at your residence or office. "I just called her there 2 days ago." Nope...I am the only female that lives in my house who can answer this phone as my cats don't speak human or have the ability to lift the phone what with that pesky missing apposable thumb bit they have going on. And, I am the only female that works at my office, bugs not included as they are sort of limited as far as that whole human speak thing I mentioned before...oh...and they tend to be too small to do anything but sit on my phone.

I Giveth Respect...

You forceth me to taketh it away! Kanye, Kanye, Kanye! What is up? I watched you on SNL (Saturday Night Live) this weekend. You did a great thing by making fun of yourself with regards to your temper tantrums as far as your awards losses. I even made a mental note to blog about how you won a smidgen of my respect back by that very humorous act. Then, today I play catch-up on some of my favorite blog sites and, I see that you threw sort of another fit at the expense of an MTV interviewer at the US Weekly Hot Hollywood Party last Wednesday. Apparently you found it acceptable to put your hand over an MTV reporters camera and keep it there while US Weekly interviewed you! Come on man! You are making it ever harder to give you props for your talent when you continuously show your juvenile jealousy and throw fits in public. Grow up, learn to take the compliment of just being nominated for the awards that you lose, and stop acting like a baby in public when you don't get your way!

Kanye, I ask...what ever happened to the saying, "It is nice just to be nominated"?

To My Hubby...

Vibby says, "What up?"
