Showtime has another new original that I am already completely smitten with. The show is United States of Tara and it airs on Sundays (check your local listings).
In case you are unfamiliar with this show, Tara has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) which means she has multiple personalities. In the first episode, we met T and Buck. T is a trashy, flirty, trampy teenager who Tara's daughter, son and hubby love. She is fun to be around and their favorite of all Tara's alters. Buck is a lewd, crass war vet who the family tries to treat with kid gloves as he can be a bit of a firecracker and has a hair trigger temper.
The family embraces Tara's alters and her disease as they would rather deal with Tara and her alters than Tara on the meds that controls her disease.
This show is engaging, tragic, novel and hilarious and I loved every second of the first episode.
