Less Than One Month Away!
The Winter Edition of Big Brother is less than one month away! I can't wait! 29 days to be exact!
A Pet Peeve...Revisited!
Wow! This takes the cake! I have seen a lot of people doing a lot of stupid stuff while driving their potential death machines but, this one really surprised me. I mean, you see enough women applying their makeup while driving, you almost get numb to it. And, I saw another woman putting her entire face of makeup on from my rear view mirror in the drive-thru at Starbucks last Friday. But, Saturday I saw the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen! A girl was cradling her cell phone between her right ear and shoulder while painting her nails as she left the drive-thru of a fast food restaurant! Well done! Bravo! That is the most productive use of driving time I have ever seen! You have actually managed to shock me!
Wait...might I have actually seen Britney Spears in disguise?

A Good Movie...
I don't recall hearing much good or bad about this movie, but, due to the strike and my ever decreasing new episodes of favorite shows, I am widdling away at my Tivo's Picks and the movie Just Friends was one of them. Just Friends is about a guy, played by one of my personal faves: Ryan Reynolds, who pines after his best female friend from school. He was overweight in school and, once out of school became a hottie and a career success. So, fate puts him back in his hometown, hilarity ensues and, this movie was awesome! I laughed the entire way through it!
So, here is how good this movie was. I was looking for something to watch while the hubby read a book. Something that he likely wouldn't care too much about and that wouldn't distract him from his reading. It turns out, Just Friends was the wrong choice because, only a minute into it, the hubby kept looking up from his reading to watch and laugh along with me. About 15 or 20 minutes into it, the hubby totally gave up the reading in favor of the movie! Oops! But, an impromptu unplanned movie night can sometimes be the best thing!
So, I highly recommend Just Friends! It stars, as mentioned before: Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris, Amy Smart and Chris Klein and had some of the best one liners and a lot of physical comedy between Ryan's character and his on-screen brother! Who knew brothers could be so brutal? I loved it!

My Guilty Pleasure...
I know, at 34, I am way too old to be watching Real World on MTV. But, I can't help myself. It gives me pleasure to watch these kids make such asses out of themselves.
One such ass is Dunbar from the current (and about to end) installment of Real World: Sydney. Dunbar said he is one of the nicest guys he knows. He even said that he doesn't kill spiders, that's how nice he is. What does that have to do with anything? Anyway, he is possibly one of the most sexist men I have never met. He has gotten into one fight or another with every female on the show. He has a girlfriend back home, wherever that is. He prides himself in being such a nice guy. So, I guess it was his evil doppelganger that screwed his cast mate, Ashley! Right? I mean, it had to have been his evil doppelganger. What kind of self-proclaimed nice guy with a girlfriend back home would screw another girl? And, it wasn't just once, from what it seems. It was multiple times. Or, at least, they screwed once and just did everything else other multiple times. Either way, it only takes one time to cheat on someone.
News flash Dunbar: Nice guys don't cheat on their girlfriends!

Am I The Only One?
Am I the only person who can't see the occasional invisible car on the road? They have to exist. Otherwise, why would someone sit at least a car and a half behind the car in front of them at a stop light? I get the space you might leave between you and the car in front of you just in case someone slams into someone else and there is a chain reaction. You might be hit and moved a bit forward and have left yourself enough room to stop in time so as not to hit the car in front of you. But, a car and a half of space in front of you...and in some cases, more? That is pushing it! And, you are really inconveniencing others when you pull that crap. You probably force other people to sit through a light that they would have been able to get through if you weren't so inconsiderate. And, chances are, because of you, someone else behind you probably thought they had enough room to move through an intersection so, they went but, because of you, they are sitting right in the middle of the intersection, possibly blocking people from getting through their light when it turns green! You are an idiot and should loose your license!
Also, there is no one on the face of this earth with a car worthy enough of parking it sideways taking up 3 spaces in a parking lot! Get over yourself! Just because you have taken up 3 spaces so that no one can park next to you and therefore, possibly hit your precious car, doesn't mean that someone can't come in to the space next of your front bumper, or next your back bumper, and clip either one! Just because your car is parked sideways along 3 spaces, doesn't mean that it is now magically immune from being accidentally clipped. And, because you thought you were so much better than everyone else, everyone else now automatically thinks you are an asshole and that your car is an inconvenience to everyone else and someone may just decide to teach you a lesson! So, the lesson you need to learn is, you are actually putting your car at a bigger danger of being hit by your inconsiderate use of 3 spaces. Piss people off enough and they might retaliate!

Correction...
In my post with the Strike Chart update yesterday, I said that I thought that Criminal Minds and CSI: NY should be airing their last fresh episodes. I was wrong. They each have at least one more episode left in the can before they have to go dark. Both of them will air new episodes in 2 weeks (January 23rd). Sorry for the mistake!
American Idol Hype Daily Count...
How fitting! Let's get this day started right. Since my last post from yesterday was an American Idol Hype Daily Count, why not make the first post of the day today another American Idol Hype Daily Count. Especially since I haven't even been up for one entire hour yet and woke up to American Idol talk on my clock radio and have already heard about it 2 more times for a grand total, thus far, of:
JANUARY 10, 2008: 3
And, still Counting:
6 More for a Total of 9
And it is only 10:42 AM.
And, still more...

Park Where You Are Allowed To...
Here is another of my Pet Peeves:
People who park in spaces specifically not intended for them. In under 24 hours, I saw 2 separate instances where people parked in handicapped spaces but, were not handicapped. No handicap tag hanging from the rear view mirror. No wheelchair on their license plate indicating that they, or someone in the car with them, is handicapped! Not handicapped! Then, around a week and a half or so ago, a woman parked in a spot that has a sign that says "Reserved for members with infants". She got out of her car with her "infant" which was able to fully walk and talk like a 5 year old. Forgive me for my ignorance but, isn't the term "infant" reserved for those who can't walk? I think that "infants" that are of an age where they can walk, or toddle, are called "toddlers". Those who can actually walk without having to hold onto a piece of furniture or a person's hand are "children". So, where was her "infant". Unless she was under 3 or 4 months pregnant, she most certainly did not have an "infant". But, I digress! Who am I to judge a woman who so clearly has overstayed her welcome in the world of "Members with Infants".
And, just in case there are any disagreements, here is the dictionary definition of the word "infant" (in fact, here are 2):
1. a child during the earliest period of its life, esp. before he or she can walk; baby.

4 Years From Having 3 Decades of Life...
I was watching some reporter on CNN, I think she was temporarily filling in for Nancy Grace, on Friday. She was talking about the Brit-catastrophe and she actually defended Britney's actions by saying, "She is only 26". Are you freaking kidding me? Being "only 26" is not an excuse for running around showing off your un-pantied goodies, going berserk and shaving all the hair off your head, being ignorant of how to take proper nutritional care of your 2 children, not knowing how to drive your kids around safely, driving over multiple people's feet, and taking your children hostage for 4 hours! She is less than 4 years from having been on this earth for 30 years. I might give her a little leeway if she pulled the crap she has pulled at 21 years of age. But, even then, you are starting to understand the ramifications of being an adult. She is not "Only 26". She is 26. An adult. Most 26 years olds have a career, are married and have started their families without making a daily ass out of themselves. People make mistakes at all ages. But, being "only 26" is not an excuse for making such potentially life threatening decisions.
