Vote!

The Trees, The Trees, The Beautiful Pink and Yellow Trees!

These trees are in my neighborhood. They are so beautiful. I am not a fan of Fall or Winter. I don't like being cold but, the beauty of these trees makes it a little more tolerable. Enjoy! I'll try to take more, and better, pictures of these trees sometime soon before the leaves drop.

Tru Blood Meets Twilight

I have seen minor similarities in the HBO original series Tru Blood and the Stephenie Meyer saga Twilight. Really minor similarities. But, last night's episode "Plaisir D'Amour", gave us one of the biggest similarities. From the start, Sookie Stackhouse has been caught in the middle of tug-o-war between the Vampire Bill Compton and the neighborhood bar owner Sam Merlotte.

In Twilight, Bella is caught between a tug-o-war between Edward and Jacob.

Well, last night's episode of Tru Blood pretty much cinched up a big similarity. Sam Merlotte is special in much the same way Jacob in Twilight is special. Sam isn't just a man who owns a popular bar in Louisiana. He isn't just a man at all. Jacob isn't just a teenage boy at all either. Jacob is a werewolf. Sam is the friendly neighborhood stray dog. I love it! I love that we get to see the tug and pull between Vampire and Dog for their lady love like we read the push and pull between Jacob and Edward in Twilight.

Basically, Tru Blood is a dirtier, scarier, more violent, sexier version of a very dirty, scary, violent and sexy Twilight. Tru Blood is written for adults while Twilight is written more for the teen crowd. But both of them have me spellbound! Even all these months since the final book in the Twilight series, I am still as spellbound by Stephenie Meyer's saga as the day I first cracked open that series.

Marti and Frizbee Have An Unnatural Love...

This is my first YouTube video. This is the first time I have been able to catch this behavior on camera. I'll try to catch more of it in the future but, for now, enjoy!

Wassup?

I usually try to stay as clear of any political crap as I can because people don't play nice when it comes to politics and, I don't like to play with those who can't play nice. But, I liked this video. These are the "Wassup" guys 8 years later and, they happen to be pimping my candidate of choice so, here ya go! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! And if you don't, I am sorry but, I am as entitled to my opinion and to my vote as you are! God Bless America!

He's Carrying The Entire Show...

His name is Bradford Anderson and he plays Spinelli on General Hospital. I remember watching GH with my Mom when I was younger and seeing it now and then growing up when I would have a day off from school or a sick day. Then, I watched it every other day in my dorm room in college on my soap day...we traded off every other day since my room mate and I each watched different soaps. Anyway, for what seems like longer than not, GH has become the Sonny Corinthos mob story and I have wavered between fast forwarding through most scenes to letting it play but barely paying attention to it. But there is one saving grace on this show. Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) is one of the only reasons that I still watch this show. Him and the fact that I feel like I have invested an hour a day of most of my life, 5 days a week, to watching it and to give it up feels like I would be walking out of a long term relationship without at least putting up a good fight to save it.

Bradford Anderson brings a lot of light, humor, and a breath of fresh air to an otherwise long since stale show. I all but ignore the entire show these days. I do other things while I am watching it. Sometimes I am cooking. Sometimes I am blogging. Sometimes I am even talking to my hubby. I even tinker on my computer. But, no matter what I am doing, whenever Spinelli has a scene, I will drop everything and pay attention. He's quirky and adorable and he carries every single character he is on the screen with. I can even tolerate Sonny Corinthos when Spinelli has a scene with him. As a matter of fact, I used to pretty much despise Jason Morgan as much as I despised Sonny Corinthos. That was until Spinelli came on the scene and now, I actually like Jason Morgan again.

There is really only one other character that I like on this entire show. I like Claudia Zaccarra as played by Sarah Brown. And, in the few scenes that she and Spinelli have had together, I was overjoyed. Frankly, I think they are the only 2 people in the entire cast that are keeping me interested. I do have other characters that I don't mind watching but, if they were to go bye-bye leaving only Spinelli and Claudia...General Hospital would finally be giving me a show worth watching.

So, here's the question...is one person capable of carrying an entire show? I guess so as one person is the only person who is keeping this girl from breaking up with a show I have watched nearly my entire life.

My Own Personal Heck...

I was watching "Samantha Who" the other night and Samantha provided me with visual imagery that gave me chills. She was set to go to Africa in an effort to better herself by giving to others but, she was stopped cold by the size of the needles needed for her shots and, she found out about the wildlife in Africa. In relating her reasons for deciding not to go to Africa, she started talking about the Scorpions. And, as if Scorpions aren't a little scary enough, she described them as "spiders with knives". Right...because I needed that imagery. I needed to picture the one thing that scares me most with sharp blades. Ahhhhhh! I hate spiders!
