Get it J.J. Abrams! I am $16 of the $41 Million that Cloverfield raised this weekend! It took $30 Million to make the movie and in one weekend, that was returned plus a whopping $11 Million more! That is awesome! And, so was the movie! Well worth the hype and the anticipation! J.J. Abrams is a genius!
Not to mention...but, I will...he beat the reissue of Star Wars: Episode 1 record for the biggest 3 day box office opening in January!

Now, I have to ask Lizzy Caplan who played the character Marlena in the movie, if she could take back her response to a question she was asked in an interview for BlackBook Insider (http://www.blackbookmag.com/features/comments/lizzy/) would she? The interviewer asked: "What convinced you to take the part?" Her response was, "I’m a fan of “Lost.” That was it. During the first few weeks, it was like, “Oh god, this is what we’re doing? I had no idea. I’ll never sign on to another film again not knowing full well what it is.” But honestly, if Woody Allen or Wes Anderson called me today, and said, “Hey you want to do something? You don’t get to read the script,” I’d be like, “Yes, yes, yes!”
I wonder if her fat paycheck will make her change her mind now that the numbers are out and this movie may be the difference between her little known name and her becoming one of Hollywood's newest It girls.
And, just to give you an idea of how little known she is, she was in Mean Girls and most recently, a show called The Class which aired on CBS in 2006 and 2007 and has since been taken off the air. I will admit that I liked that show but, most people probably wouldn't know what I am talking about if I told them she was in it. And, in most of the stuff that I have found online about her and her role in the movie, they mention that she was in Mean Girls but say nothing about her role as Kat Warbler in The Class.
So, in my most humble opinion, she should be honored to be in such a box office record breaker as Cloverfield. What about it was so off-putting? Was it the fact that you had to run around a lot? Was it all the blood and guts? Boo hoo! It was a great movie and possibly a huge boost in your career as an actress! Welcome to WORK! It is hard. It can be dirty. But, when it is good, it pays off!

Out of Rehab
Thanks to my Mom, I am out of Nasal Spray Rehab! She called me Thursday and I was telling her about how I needed to put myself through Nasal Spray Rehab and that I had the long Holiday weekend planned for it. She told me that she had a suggestion for me. She told me that she was addicted to nasal spray for years and had to break her habit. She had to do it cold turkey with nothing to help her through it but, found out about a product years later that has helped her since then. It is Ayr Saline Nasal Gel. It is non-medicated and you just swab or rub it into your nasal passages. It shrinks those pesky swollen mucous membranes and helps you breath easier. It is actually suggested for babies because they can't blow their nose as they haven't learned that yet. It is completely non-addictive. I also got the Ayr Saline Nasal Mist and, BAM! I am now completely Nasal Spray free! I only had to use the Ayr less than 24 hours. I also used a Vapor Inhaler from Walgreens because, as good as the Ayr is, it wasn't perfect so, I needed a little bit of help to get my air passages unstuffed. I only used the inhaler for less than 24 hours as well.
So wonderful! I can't believe I broke the habit in less than 24 hours! Thanks to my Mom, Ayr and Walgreens Vapor Inhaler!

Help For The Lightened Up!
I am a natural blonde and, a little over 6 months ago, I decided to be a brunette. I love me as a brunette. As my mom said, "Sometimes we are just not meant to be blonde." Imagine that. I think that most women strive to be blonde. I, however, strive to be much darker.
So, I have to go every 3 months and have my hair colored because my hair is so light naturally and, it is very fine so it doesn't hold the darker color as long as I would like it to. This was becoming progressively more and more irritating for me as I could only go about 2-3 weeks with my hair as dark as it is when I first get it done. I only wash my hair every other to every 2 days because it dries out too easily if I wash it every day so, my hair color could get lighter much quicker if I did wash it every day. And, to give you an idea of how much of a change my hair sees in just 3 weeks, I go from a really rich dark chocolate or even the color of molasses, to something a little bit darker than honey. That is somewhere between 2 and 3 shades lighter. That is an awful big change and coloring your hair isn't exactly cheap.
So, the last time I went in to get it colored, I talked to my girl about their color enhancing shampoo and conditioner. They sell Aveda in their salon. She suggested I buy the conditioner since it seems to make more of a difference than the shampoo. So, I got the Aveda Clove Color Conditioner and, it seems to be working. My hair is still a bit lighter than it was when I first left the salon but, it has lasted longer than it would have without the color conditioner.
So, for those of you who go from a light color to a darker color and tend to loose the intensity of your color in just a few washes, try the Aveda Color products and see if they help! I might try the Black Malva Color Conditioner next time as it is supposed to help with black or brown hair. Perhaps it will maintain the exact intensity of my freshly done color better than the Clove. Either way, I am pleased with what it has done thus far.

That is the last day that I was healthy. I have had a cold of some sort every day since November 4th and I am tired of it. For those of you who don't want to do the math, that is a grand total of:
2 MONTHS AND 12 DAYS
10 WEEKS AND 3 DAYS
74 DAYS!
And, to make matters worse, because I have been so congested and stuffed up, I have had to depend on nose spray just to be able to breathe with my mouth shut. So, now I need to put myself through my own personal Nose Spray Rehab. Fan-freaking-tastic!
I HATE THE FREAKING WINTER!

Lest you all think that I am a total, All Things American Idol Hater, I am not. I have given props to Kelly Clarkson in past posts and, now I have to give props to a past season loser. Daughtry is great. I love his voice and actually look forward to hearing his music on the radio. And, not to gloat but, he didn't win the season he was on. So, that should tell you something. YES! YES! YES! According to yesterday's American Idol 2 Hour Season Premiere, the ratings were down 13% since last years season premiere and only 10% down from 2006. If this show is so popular and so wonderful, it should have seen better numbers than 2006 and 2007! Not worse!
Please let this trend get stronger and stronger so we can finally see the last season of American Idol and I can start living days at a time without hearing, reading or seeing some kind of annoying hype about it...every single day of my life!

Only My Opinion...
I have no idea what the ratings for the newest installment of Donald Trump's Apprentice was but, I have been over this show since the first season and, I thought it was dead. In fact, I think it was dead 3 seasons ago. So, here is my opinion: If ever there was proof that money rules the world, the fact that Celebrity Apprentice is on the air is it. I believe that the only reason that this Trump drivel is on the air is because he is willing to pay a butt load of money to have it on the air!
Cash is King! And, Donald Trump has a lot of cash. So, by default...Trump rules the world! Ugh! Someone get me a barf bucket. Or, just grab his rug off his big head. That should be big enough to catch my vomit!
UPDATE: I read on TVguide.com yesterday that this week's episode of Celebrity Apprentice brought 26% less people willing to sit through The Trump's steaming pile of crap! Will we finally see the end of this show? Or, can Donald Trump just dig deeper into his pockets to fix his problems? I guess we'll have to see!
Of note: His ratings from Apprentice's hay day were 20 million and, in it's second week, Celebrity Apprentice is only bringing in an audience of 8.2 million.

A Movie That Gives Me Goose Bumps...
I like J.J. Abrams. I love Lost! I get excited to watch each new episode. So, I will be one of the people lining up to see Cloverfield this weekend. J.J. Abrams is possibly one of the most suspenseful writer/directors of our time and I think he has proven himself simply by the trailer for Cloverfield. I can not wait for my glimpse of the mysterious monster. There is nothing more that I can say to express how gripping the suspense of this movie is for me! I am simply...Spellbound!
And, The Cliche: Oops! She Did It Again!
Mother of the Year, Britney Spears, did not show up for court again yesterday! She was supposed to get her butt there to talk custody and possibly get her visitation rights reinstated but, she couldn't be bothered! She, reportedly, showed up outside of the courthouse but told her lawyers that she just wasn't into it so, she left. And, that is as it should be. If you just aren't into being a mother for the day, just leave. Why not?
So, she has lost all custody and visitation rights "indefinitely" and, I couldn't be more thrilled. Unless her lawyers call for an emergency hearing to discuss getting her visitation rights reinstated, her next chance may not be until mid-February.
You go girl! Who needs the hassle of being a Mom when you just aren't into it? Jeez! I mean, a girl has gotta live her life unencumbered by some needy little rug rats tugging on her short shorts!

New NCIS
Tonight's episode of NCIS should be the episode that CBS was slated to air before Christmas. The title is "Tribes" and, instead of this episode, CBS aired a rerun under that title and description some time before Christmas. I may be wrong about this but, I think this is the last fresh episode until the strike ends.
